PALMER, GIFFORD

Married at Littleport, at the residence of the bride’s father on the 5th of Feb., 1867, by Dennis Quigley, J.P., Sylvester [?.] Palmer to Miss Amira Gifford, both of Clayton county, Iowa.

Mr. Palmer was one of the brave soldiers of the Union army, served through the war honorably and at the end of it was discharged with the honors of a patriot. He is therefore deserving of so valuable a prize as he has obtained in Miss Anna. May the choicest blessing befall the soldier and his amicable bride is the Printer’s wish. Thanks for that delicious cake and the dollar accompanying it.
