Married in Elkader, at the residence of Mr. A. W. Daugherty, January 3rd, 1867, by Rev. Samuel Prescout, Capt. George W. Cook, of the 12th Iowa Infantry, and Superintendent of Common Schools of Clayton County, to Miss Mary E. Preston, B.S., of Yankee Settlement.
May the [holiest?] blessings befall the gallant Captain and his amiable bride.
