Plumb - Hatfield, marriage 1863

Married on the 18th of November, by Rev. S. P. Sloan, at the residence of Hon. R. Noble, E. B. Plumb, of McGregor, and Miss Mary Hatfield.

‘Tis well. Another bachelor gone by the board. We saw our young friend Plumb the next day after the awful deed was accomplished, and he looked as bright and blooming as a full blown plumb tree. May he always look so, and may not storm snatch the blows until matured. In short, may the tree bring forth good fruit, and an abundance of it.
