Married on the 31st of November, 1861, at her brothers residence in Cox Creek Twp., By C. W. Richardson, Esq., Mr. Wm. Brooks of Fayette county to Miss Elizabeth Hasham of Elkader.

“When Elizabeth departed the maiden’s life,
To try the stern realities of a wife,
It was a final step she took,
For she tumbled straight into the boat.”
