Strawberry Point -- Mr. and Mrs. Mike Eder will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Friday. Open house will be at the home from 2 to 4 p.m., and a reception honoring the couple will take place in the parlors of the Emanuel Lutheran church at 8 p.m.

Mike Eder was born at St. Sebald, Jan. 9, 1879, and Anna Preuss was born near Elkader, Mar. 1, 1879. They were married Mar. 31, 1900 at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Preuss, south of Volga City. They farmed in the vicinity of Strawberry Point until 1947, when they purchased a home in Strawberry Point and retired.

Mr. and Mrs. Eder have a daughter and six sons, Mrs. Alvin Waring, Strawberry Point; Arthur, Abilene, Tex.; Fred, Cleveland, O.; Louie, Sandusky, Mich.; Henry, Strawberry Point; Irvin, Kansas City, Mo.; and George, Postville. There are 15 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
