MEYER, Henry, cashier; born New York City, Aug. 3, 1854; son Herman and Elizabeth (Schwartz) Meyer; ed. pub. schools in New York City; married Clermont, Ia., 1877, Lucy Appelman; children: Annie, Frank, Lucy; married 2d, Elkader, Ia., Apr. 19, 1892, Minerva Leach; 1 son: Donald. Began career as telegraph operator at Beulah, Ia., for the Iowa Eastern Ry., now part of the C.,M.&St.P., and was supt. of the same road, 1877-82; cashier First Nat. Bank of Elkader, Ia., 1882-98; nat. bank examiner in Iowa, 1898-1902; on Sept. 1, 1902, was made vice-pres. of the Des Moines Nat. Bank of Des Moines, Ia.; cashier Hamilton Nat. Bank, Apr. 21, 1903, until it was consolidated with the Nat. City Bank, of which has since been asst. cashier. Republican. Congregationalism. Was for 4 years on staff of Gov. Larrabee, of Iowa. Mason, K.T., Shriner. Residence: 321 Greenwood Boul., Evanston, IL. Office: Nat. City Bank.
