LAST ROLL CALL

Hiram Sigfried, a veteran of the civil war, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Buttrum, in this city Monday morning after a protracted illness. Mr. S had been a resident of this city for many years, and his wife died here about three years ago. Since then he resided a part of the time with relatives near Fort Dodge, where he was when his last illness was contracted. He was brought to Spencer about two weeks before his death. He was in his 73d year. The funeral was held at the home at 10 a. m. Tuesday, Rev. O. M. Bond conducting the services. The funeral was in the hands of his old comrades in arms. Burial was in Riverside.

NOTE: No gravestone was found, but he is listed in the cemetery records as being buried there.
