OBITUARY
William C. Jones
William C. Jones was born at Damascus, Ohio, on Jan. 17, 1943, and passed away on Jan. 26, 1926 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. C. C. Bender. He was a member of the 143rd regiment of the Ohio Guards and was discharged from the army Spt. 13, 1864, after which he attended Eastman college, New York.

He was married in 1873 to Nancy Bishop who preceded him in death. To this union three children were born, Alma who passed away on Aug. 16, 1900, and Mrs. K. R. Bender and Mrs. C. C. Bender both of Spencer who survive him. He also leaves to mourn his death two brothers, L. M. Jones of Canton, Ohio, and Byron Jones of Damascus, Ohio, and two grandsons, Jack and Ted Bender. His early married life was spent at Piper City, III. He later moved to Wayne. Neb., and from there to Spencer in 1894 where he has since resided.

He was a member of the Masonic order of this city and had served as Worshipful Master at Piper City, in 1886. He was also a member of Annett Post of the G. A. R.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from the Cobb undertaking parlors.
