Funeral services for Mrs. Jeannette C. Gordon,89 of Spencer, formerly of Linn Grove were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Warner Chapel of Spencer. Rev. Paul Hansen of Spencer officiated the service
Interment was at the Barnes Township Cemetery of Linn Grove
Jeannette passed away, Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at the Spencer Hospital
Jeannette, the daughter E.L. and Amy (Hopkins) Coffman, was born June 26, 1917 in Laurens. Her childhood years were spent in Laurens, where she received her education graduating in 1935. Following her graduation from high school, she attended and graduated from Buena Vista College with a degree in Elementary Education. Following college, she taught at several communities until moving to Linn Grove, where she made her home
Jeannette married Donald M. Gordon on July 31, 1949 in Storm Lake. following their marriage, they remained in Linn Grove, where she resided for 43 years. She moved to Peterson in 1989 and later to Spencer in 2002.
She was member of Riverside Presbyterian Church in Linn Grove was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gordon on October 31, 1969; an infant daughter, Mary Louise Gordon; a twin sister, Jean Stewart and a son, James Gordon
Jeannette is survived by one son; Michael Gordon and his wife, Kim of Spencer, Iowa, one grandson and a sister, Ruth Jafvert of Okoboji
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements
