Funeral services for Mrs. Laura Camp, 76, of Sioux Rapids and Linn Grove were held Monday morning, May 9, at 10:30 a.m. from the Trinity Lutheran church in Linn Grove with Pastor David Moore officiating.
Pallbearers were Brad Camp, Dennis Camp, Bill Davis, David Decker, Eric Halverson and Teri Stone.
Burial was in the Barnes Township cemetery at Linn Grove with the Sliefert Funeral home of Sioux Rapids in charge of the arrangements.
Laura Anna Amelia Camp was born June 24, 1911 in Huron, South Dakota, the daughter of William and Amelia (Miller) Jaeschke. After finishing high school in Huron she was employed at the Huron College.
On June 22,1929 she was united in marriage to Myrl Edwin Camp. They spent several years in various areas of South Dakota and Minnesota before moving to Linn Grove in 1953 where she helped her husband operate Camps Grocery and Locker. They retired from this business in 1979, at which time they moved to Sioux Rapids.
The last year and a half she made her home in Linn Grove where she was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.
She passed away on Thursday morning. May 5, 1988, at the home of her son, Robert at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 11 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Myrl.
She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Davis of Aurora, Colorado; her six children, Duane and his wife Beatrice of Kankakee, Illinois, Donald and his wife Dorothy of Linn Grove, Keith and his wife Betty of Azusa, Calif., Judith and her husband Merlin Halverson of Sperry, Iowa, Clifford and his wife Susan of Sonoma, Calif., and Robert of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; also 13 grandchildren; 13 greatgrandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
She enjoyed traveling and visiting her children and grandchildren, and she was a devoted and loving mother and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her loving and caring of others.
