Funeral services for Floyd Lorenzen, 68, Linn Grove, were held Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 17, at 2:00 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran church in Linn Grove with Pastor David Moore officiating.
Pallbearers were Jerry Lorenzen, Bob Anderson, Terry Herrig, Gary Moore, Rick Herrig and
Jim Lorenzen.
Burial was in Barnes Township cemetery at Linn Grove with the Sliefert Funeral Home
of Sioux Rapids in charge of the arrangements.
Floyd Franklin Lorenzen was born March 14. 1914 at Council Bluffs, Iowa the son of Frank and Johanna (Phannkuch) Lorenzen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Little Sioux Valley Lutheran church at Rembrandt and attended the Rembrandt school.
He was united in marriage to Lucille Herrig August 12, 1939 at Rembrandt.
During his lifetime he farmed in the Rembrandt, Comfrey and Mountain Lake, Minnesota area. Upon his retirement they returned to the Rembrandt area. He was a great outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Floyd passed away of a sudden heart attack at his home on Sunday, Nov. 14, 1982 at the age of 68 years and 8 months.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille; three sons, Richard and Edna Lorenzen of Linn Grove, Gordon and Karen Lorenzen of Comfrey, Minnesota and Larry and Marlene Lorenzen of Buffalo, N.Y.; three daughters, Glenda (Mrs. Glen Taylor) of Mankato, Minnesota, Patricia (Mrs. Jerry Carter) of Fairview Heights, Illinois and Carol (Mrs. Ron Roger) of Appleton, Minnesota, his mother, Mrs. Johanna Lorenzen of the Good Samaritan Home at Newell; two brothers, Clifford of Aurora, Colo., and Frank of Tallahassee, Florida 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
