Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel B. Anderson, 76, Sioux Rapids, were held Thursday
morning, November 18, at 10:30 a.m. from the First Lutheran church in Sioux Rapids
with Pastor Judd Larson officiating.
Pallbearers were David Anderson, Bruce Mills, Duane Schacht, Charles Loving, Bradley Holmes, Mitchel Anderson and Tim Anderson.
Burial was in Barnes Township cemetery at Linn Grove with the Sliefert Funeral Home
of Sioux Rapids in charge of the arrangements.
Ethel Beatrice Anderson, daughter of Carl and Mathilda (Fogde) Emanuelson, was born January 29, 1906 at Linn Grove. Her childhood years were spent in that area, and it was in the Linn Grove Public Schools that she received her education. Ethel was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran church in Linn Grove.
She was married to Orville Anderson August 28,1926 and to this union four sons and six daughters were born; Doyle, George, Gary, Richard, Edith, Helen, Barbara, Dorothy, Janetand Betty.
Ethel was a member of the First Lutheran church of Sioux Rapids and belonged to Rachel Circle;
She loved her family and took great pride in all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ethel had been in failing health for sometime and was a resident at the Sioux Care Center in Sioux Rapids and it was here that she passed away on Monday, Nov. 15, 1982 at the age of 76 years, 9 months and 16 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 grandchild.
She is survived by her husband, Orville; four sons, Doyle and Lela of Linn Grove, George and Delores of Thomasboro, Illinois., Gary and Martha of Rutland and Richard of Spirit Lake; six daughters, Edith and Leonard Wells of Denver, Colorado, Helen and Robert Holmes of Englewood, Colo., Barbara and Bryon Loving of Waterloo, Dorothy and Gerald Schacht of Decorah, Janet and John Mills of Linn Grove and Betty and Ronald Stennerson of Sioux Rapids; 3 sisters, Mrs. Effie Williams of Oaktown, Ind., Ellen (Mrs. Luther Jones) of Peterson and Mrs. Ida Smith of Cherokee; 31 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 8 nieces, 8 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
