Boyd Walton, 74, Everly, died Wednesday, September 9, 1998, at Spencer Municipal Hospital
Funeral services will be Today at 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church, Everly, with the Rev. Shurmaine McAlpine officiating
Casket bearers will be Dick Holst, Stan Meyerdirk, Dale Adolph, Jim Miles, Arnie Sindt, Rodney Borensen
Honorary casket bearers will be Loren McBride, Hap Scharnberg, Norm Sindt, Wayne McGillick, Pete Ihnen, Al Sindt, Lowell Elliot, Lawrence Matejka and George Hintz
Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly, with Warner Funeral Home of Spencer in charge of arrangements
Boyd William Walton, the son of Arthur and Jennie (Butterfield) Walton, was born April 28, 1924 in Jackson, Minnesota and it was there he received his education in country school
On January 19, 1942, he married Edna Allen. The couple lived in Everly, where he owned and operated a corn shelling and trucking business for over 50 years. Boyd thoroughly enjoyed his work. His work and his family were his life. While living in the Everly area, he was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church and the American Legion
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons; Larry and Ronnie; three brothers; William, James and Archie; a sister, Ethel Berry; and one grandson, Michael Walton
Mr. Walton is survived by his wife; one son, Darrel Walton and his wife, Cheryl of Everly; two daughters; Sharon Sawyer and her husband, Ken of Humboldt; and Judy Bailey and her husband, Don of Pomeroy; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and one sister, Delorna Tucker of Mountain Home, Arkansas
