Services for Althea Jeanette Anderson, Travis, 65, of Spencer, will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Warner Chapel, Spencer. The Rev. Patrick Shelley will officiate at the services for Mrs. Travis and burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly
Casket bearers will be Dr. Jeff Peterson, Homer Bailey, Redge Berg and Frank Drury
Mrs. Travis died Thursday evening at her home.

The daughter of George and Ella (Ketelsen) Stuhr. Mrs. Travis was born July 5, 1920 in Hartley. Her childhood years were spent in the Everly area, where she received her early education
After graduating from Everly High School, she attended Drake University in Des Moines and later the American Conservatory of Music in Chicago. While living in Chicago, she was a singer and entertainer. She also was a second grade teacher in Wauconda, Illinois and had been director of the Wauconda Concert Band. She was Clay County Fair Queen in 1939, Sweetcorn Sweetheart in 1941 and Drake University Beauty Queen and cheerleader in 1942.
She married Kenneth Anderson in Spencer on July 6, 1946. The couple made their home in the Chicago area, where she directed a church choir and was a member of the Eastern Star, until 1964, when they returned to Spencer
She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Spencer.
Following the death of her husband, she married Jim Travis on May 10, 1976 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Survivors include her second husband; one son, Dean Anderson of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Gayle Bailey of Everly; four grandchildren; and her mother, Ella Ketelsen, Spencer
