Funeral services were held May 16 at the United Methodist Church in Everly for Mrs. Carmen Selk, 45, of Everly. The Rev. David Nelson officiated
Bearers were J.R. Ferris, Clifton Smith, Bill Thiessen, Fred Adrian, Ray Homes and Russell Hughes
Burial was in Lone tree Cemetery in Everly
Mrs. Selk died May 13, at the Community Memorial Hospital in Hartley
She was born January 18, 1930 in Hazen, North Dakota, a daughter of James and Lottie (Stetson) Johnson. Her parents moved to the Peterson area in 1937
She married Otto Selk, Jr. on April 20, 1952 at Peterson. After marriage they resided in Sutherland until 1963 when they moved to Everly
Mrs. Selk was a graduate of the Methodist School of Nursing in Sioux City.
She was a member of the Everly United Methodist Church and served as its treasurer and of the American Legion Auxiliary of Sutherland
Preceding her death were her parents, twin sisters and a brother in infancy, a brother, Harold and a sister, Helen
She us survived by her husband; three children, Constance Annette, Clarice Ann and Christine Kay all at home; two brothers, Alvin and Duane both of Peterson; and three sister, Mrs. Jenny Johnson of Billings, Montana, Mrs. Vera (Ed) Wittmeyer of Jesup and Mrs. Lois (Robert) Samuelson of Sutherland
Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
Spencer Daily Reporter, Spencer, Clay County, Iowa, May 18, 1975
