Funeral for Seril (Sy) James Sears, 73, of Spencer will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday from Warner Chapel of Spencer. The Rev. Gerald Hallauer will officiate
Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly
Military graveside services will be conducted by Glen Pedersen Post No. 1, American Legion
Mr. Sears died Thursday at his home in Spencer
He was born October 19, 1905, to James and Bessie (Woodall) Sears at Sutherland
On December 18, 1928, he was married to Leona Lammers
He moved with his parents to Moneta in 1919. He served in World War II as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. After his discharge from service in 1945, he brought out his partner, Henry Hahn, in the Nesbitt Bottling Company and operated the business with his wife until 1959
He was a member of the Congregational Church, the American Legion, the Fraternal Order of Eagles
Survivors are his widow, Leona of Spencer; three nephews and three step nieces
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements
