Funeral services for Christina Sorensen, 82, of Primghar, were held December 29 at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Everly. The Rev. Austin Rugger officiated and burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
Mrs. Sorensen died December 26 at the Baum Harmon Memorial Hospital in Primghar
Grandsons served as bearers
Ane Christine Sorensen was born October 16, 1893, at Alstrup, Denmark, the daughter of Jens and Karen Marie Jensen. She came to the United States and was married to Jens Sorenson on April 26, 1912, at Seattle, Washington. they lived in southern Iowa for many years and in 1934 came to northwest Iowa. They moved to Everly in 1945.
Mrs. Sorensen had spent the past seven years at Rest Haven Manor in Primghar
She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Everly, the Good Samaritan Club of May City and the Farm Bureau Women of Waterford Township
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Christa Small of Nekoosa, Wisconsin, Mrs. Ettla Morfitt of Everly, Mrs. Pearl Thomas of Paullina; two sons, Theodore of Medford, Minnesota and Andrew of Louisville, Kentucky; 27 grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren; one sister, Tina in Argentina and one sister in Denmark
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970, her parents, one brother and three grandchildren
The Baumgarten Funeral Home of Hartley was in charge of arrangements
