Lena Lillian Schmidt, 86, of Everly, died Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Home, Spencer
Services for Mrs. Schmidt will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday at Hop[e Lutheran Church, Everly. The Rev. Roger Hanson will officiate.
Burial will be at Lone Tree Cemetery
Casket bearers will be Marvin Schmidt, Dale Ott, Garland Hohback, Orlan Ott, Merlyn Hennings and Merwin Hennings
The daughter of George and Lena (Bruegmann) Frick, Mrs. Schmidt was born October 7, 1899, near Plessis in O'Brien County. Her childhood years were spent in Clay County and it was in the rural Lone Tree Township Schools that she received her early education
She married John Schmidt, January 12, 1921, on her parents farm near Moneta
Mrs. Schmidt was a long time member of Hope Lutheran Church in Everly where she had served on the Church board and as president for many years of the Dorcus Society, now known as the Hope Lutheran Church Women. She was also a member of the Moneta Service Club and the Lone Tree Gleaners
Mrs. Schmidt was preceded in death by her husband on June 8, 1969 and one grandson
Survivors include one son and his wife, Arvin and Muriel Schmidt of Manilla; one daughter and her husband, Arlene and Verlan (Bud) Meyer of Everly; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Irene Henning of Hartley
The Warner Funeral Home Spencer is in charge of arrangements
