Services for Arlo Scharnberg, 66, of Hartley were held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. The Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated and burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.
Bearers were LeRoy McCarty, Merion Tesch, Ed Brinkert, Alvin Kleunder, Kenneth Steen and Harlan Goetsch
Honorary bearers were Al Hansen, Willie Hartmann, Melvin Jensen, Boyd Walton, Elmer Johnson, Al Schierholz, Ed Krager and Harold Gustad
Mr. Scharnberg died December 25 at his home.
Mr. Scharnberg was born January 13, 1911 at Everly, the son of Amiel and Frances (Ott) Scharnberg. He attended Everly High School
He married Minnie Jager on January 12, 1932 at Spencer, They farmed near Everly and Hartley and retired and moved to Hartley in 1973.
He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ of Hartley
Survivors include his widow, Minnie; one daughter, Mrs. Peggy Tesch of Storm Lake; on e son, Jerry Scharnberg of Hartley; six grandchildren; his mother, Mrs. Frances Scharnberg of Everly; one brother, Eldo Scharnberg, of Everly
He was preceded in death by his father and an infant son, Gary Lee
The Baumgarten Funeral Home of Hartley was in charge of arrangements
