Funeral services for Leon Russell, 86, of Everly were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Warner Chapel. Pastor Roger Hanson officiated and burial was in the Lone Tree Cemetery, Everly.
Bearers were Elmer Nath, Dr. Duane Wheeler, Bill Adrian, Fred Adrian, Ray Koehnk and Gale Birdsall
Mr. Russell died Friday at the Hartley Hospital
Mr. Russell was born October 6, 1889, at Winona, Minnesota, the son of Edwin and Melissa (Skinner) Russell
He married Minnie Sauerwein on August 8, 1921 at Gordon, Nebraska. She died in 1944
Mr. Russell was the manager of the Everly Telephone Company
He was a veteran of W.W.I and a member of the Eastern Star, the Nebraska Masons and the American Legion
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Leone (Orville) Koechert of Everly; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Grace Ewing of Deadwood, South Dakota; two brothers, Van Russell of Punta Gorda, Florida and George Russell of Elsinor, California
The Warner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
