Audrey Faye Pullen, 82. Fort Dodge and formerly of Spencer, died Friday at Trinity Union Nursing Home in Fort Dodge
Services for Mrs. Pullen will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Warner Chapel in Spencer, with the Rev. M.D. Summerbell officiating
Burial will be in Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
The daughter of Stephen and Ethel (Amick) Alexander, she was born November 2, 1906, near Danville, Illinois. Her family moved to the Spencer area when she was a child and she received her early education here. After graduating from Spencer High School in 1926, she taught country school for two years.
On June 6, 1929, she married Chester Pullen in Methodist Church in Pocahontas. Throughout their marriage, they farmed in the Spencer area. Mrs. Pullen returned to teaching after her children were grown and took classes at both Drake University in Des Moines and Buena Vista College in Storm Lake. She taught in the rural and Spencer Schools for 23 years and later taught handicapped children
Mrs. Pullen was active in the community, having been a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the Women's Circle, the V.F.W. and P.E.O.
For the past eight years, she made her home in Des Moines and Fort Dodge
Mrs. Pullen was precede in death by her parents; her husband; and one brother
She is survived by three sons, Douglas of LeMars, Mark (Ted) of Ogilvie, Minnesota and Keith of Fort Dodge; one daughter, Gloria Edwards of Des Moines; 10 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and one sister, Madeline Bunker of LeMars
