Funeral services for Ed Lorenzen, 71 of Everly were held Monday at '10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Everly. The Rev. Gary Bird officiated
Burial was in Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly
Mr. Lorenzen died September 9 at St. Joseph Hospital in Sioux City
Bearers were Dwight Lorenzen, Robert Tinius, Robert Rausch, Harold Thorne, Burdette Lorenzen and Darrel Scharnberg
Mr. Lorenzen was born September 10, 1905, at Moneta, the son of Nis and Lana (Gries) Lorenzen. He attended school at Moneta and lived in the Moneta and Everly areas all his life.
He married Elva Maye Trojahn on September 7, 1932 at Spencer. They farmed in the Everly community until moving into town in 1960.
He worked in the implement business for three years and Kramer Hardware for five years
He was a charter member of the Everly Lions Club and was a member of the Everly United Methodist Church
Survivors include his widow; one daughter, Mrs. Joyce Murray of Onawa; one son , Dale Lorenzen of Naperville, Illinois; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Pauline Tinius of Laurens; one brother, Ted Lorenzen of Hartley
He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters five brothers and on grandchild
The Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements
