Otto Hans Koehnk, 77, died Thursday at his home in Everly
Services will be 10:30 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Everly. The Rev. Roger Hanson will officiate
Casket bearers will be William Hartmann, James Johanson, Orville Koechert, Wilburt Thiessen, Ivan Kruse and Stan Schoelerman
Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery
Warner Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements
The son of Otto and Anna (Bielfeldt) Koehnk, he was born January 13, 1909 in Clay County. His childhood years were spent on a farm near Everly and he received his early education in the Lone Tree Township County Schools. Following his schooling, he farmed with his father
Mr. Koehnk married Edna Peterson, March 20, 1930 in Schaller. They made there home in the Everly area, where they farmed for 43 years. In 1974, they retired and move to Everly. After retiring from farming, Mr. Koehnk served as field assessor for ten years
He was a member of Hoper Lutheran Church, Evening Shade Lodge No. 312 A.F. & A.M. the Spencer Area Shrine Club, the United Farmers Telephone Board, The ECHO Board and was a past master of Everly Columbian Lodge No. 560
Survivors include his wife; two sons, James of Yorba Linda, California and Larry of Jewell; two daughters, Audrey Krause of San Antonio, Texas and Mary Aamlie of Loretto, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; a brother, Ray of Everly; two sisters, Betty Runkle of Everly and Jeanine Klett of Corydon
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Melvin and Walter; and two sisters, Hilda Petersen and Wilma Froehlich
