Services for Arnold Burdette Joens, 40 of Hartley will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Hartley. The Rev. William Tomlinson will officiate and burial will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery at Everly.
Joens died September 16 at Worthington
Bearers will be Dale Hollesen, Dave Lynn, Andrew Bruns, George Garloff, David O'Dell and Doug Lynn
Joens was born August 27, 1939, at Denison, the son of Hans and Verna (Puhrman) Joens. He attended school at Lake Park. He lived at Lake Park, Everly and Worthington, Minnesota. and was a self-employed truck driver. He joined the Lutheran Church in 1967
He was married to Sheryl Letcher on January 29, 1979, at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They lived in Worthington, Minnesota
Survivors include his widow, Sheryl; her two children, Mrs. Linda (David) O'Dell of Starke, Florida and William Rurup of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, South Dakota; his five children, Dave, Faye and Connie of Grand Island, Nebraska, Kristi and Kelli of Worthington, Minnesota; one granddaughter; four stepchildren, John, April, Tammy and Tommy Weltzin of Lake Park; his father, Hans of Hartley; his grandmother, Mrs. Doris Puhrmann of Paullina; two sisters, Mrs. Mardell Bates of Hartley and Mrs. Phyllis Davis of Forrest City; two brothers, Glen Joens of Hartley and Paul Barnhardt of Star City, Arkansas
The Baumgarten Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
