Services for Steven James Jipson, 23 of Des Moines and formerly of Hartley, will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hartley. Father Jerome Coyle will officiate the services
Pallbearers are Brian Hirt, Craig Fox, Dave Sprosty, Joe Patte, George Craick, Nick Molnor, Ron Brouillere, Louis Baratta, Keith Paine, Charles Dunn, Mike Wicks and Chris Ames
Interment will be at the Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
Jipson the son of Verlyn and Marie (Mayou) Jipson was born September 26, 1956, in Spencer. He grew up on a farm near Moneta and then in Hartley, after the family moved there when he was seven. He was a 1075 graduate of Hartley High School
He married Marla Nash on August 11, 1979, at St John's Catholic Church in Des Moines. For the past four and a half years, Jipson was a salesman at Stereo town
Jipson died at home Wednesday after a long illness
He is survived by his wife, Marla; his parents, Verlyn and Marie Jipson of Hartley; three brothers, David of Mason City, Michael of Largo, Florida and Douglas of Des Moines; two sisters, Victoria Myron and Mrs. Valerie Bonney of Mankato, Minnesota; his grandfather, Elmer Mayou of Hartley and a grandmother, Mrs. Roy Stephenson of Spencer
Baumgarten Funeral Home of Hartley is in charge of the service arrangements
