John Claus Holst, 81 died Saturday at the Hartley Hospital
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Hope Lutheran Church, Everly. Pastor Roger Hanson will officiate
Casket Bearers will be Gene Holst, Wilbert Mattson, Jim Holst, Jerry Holst, Charles Woodsworth and Bill Mattson
Burial will be in the Lone tree Cemetery in Everly.
Arrangements are by the Warner Funeral Home, Spencer
Mr. Holst, the son of Henry and Amelia (Hoeppner) Holst was born November 4, 1905, near Calumet. His childhood years were spent in Calumet, where he received his early education attending country schools in the area
He married Helen Rolfs on October 3, 1928, in Everly. After their marriage, they moved to Everly where they lived on a farm throughout their married life. He dad sold PAG seed corn for 28 years
Mr. Holst was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Everly
He is survived by three sons and their wives; Richard and Toby of Everly, Russell and Kay of Hartley and David and Vickie of Tustin, California; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two sister, Luella Holtz of Everly and Viola (Mrs. Orie) Lohrmann of Lake Park
He was preceded in death by his wife Helen on January 6, 1986; two granddaughters and four brothers, Delbert, Leonard, Emil and Ruby
