Services for Haryn Gilbert Hillegas, 54, of Everly will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the United Methodist Church in Everly. The Rev. Gary Bird will officiate with burial in Lone Tree Cemetery in Everly
Casket bearers will be Richard Harris, Dale Stuhr, Ott Selk, Don Nelson, Stan Meyerdirk and Herald Baier
Hillegas was born Febrauary 7, 1927 in Pender, Nebraska, the son of Frank and Sophia (Augustine) Hillegas. He graduated from the Sioux City Barber College in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army from December 1, 1954 to November 30, 1956. He spent a year as a cook in Puerto Rico for the Army
He married Karen Jordan on August 31, 1952 in Peterson and they lived in Everly since 1957, where he was a barber. Hillegas was a member of the United Methodist Church in Everly
Hillegas died Tuesday at his home in Everly
Preceding him in death were his parents and an infant son, Charles
Surviving include his wife; three daughters, Katherine of California, JoAnne with the U.S. Army in Germany and Sharon of Everly; two sons, Terry of Denver, Colorado and Jerry in the U.S, Navy; one brother, Roland of Pender, Nebraska and two sisters, Mrs. Donna Krause of Walthill, Nebraska and Mrs. Della Drum of Winnebago, Nebraska
The Baumgarten Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of the service arrangements
