Steven Ray Gonnerman, the son of Charles and Josephine Rausch Gonnerman, was born January 1, 1952 at Hartley, Iowa.
He passed away at the Hartley Community Hospital, September 24, 1972, from injuries suffered in a car accident September 22, 1972.
He was a graduate from the Everly Community High School and was currently a student at the Northwest Iowa Vocational School in Sheldon, Iowa.
He was baptized in the Methodist Faith in Hartley.
He had served in the United States Army for about two years.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael, who lost his life in the same accident.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents; two sisters, Susan, Mrs. Clifford Muilenburg of Superior, Iowa, and Rebecca, Mrs. Darrell Watterson of Ladysmith, Wise; two grandmothers, Mrs. Emma Bonds of Manzanola, Colo., and Mrs. Florence Rausch of Larrabee, Iowa, other relatives and his many friends.
Services were held September 27 from the Methodist Church in Hartley, with Rev. Keith Scott officiating.
Burial was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley.
The casket attendants were Larry Stockdale, Dennis Ahrenstorff, Dean Hoist, Mike Morfitt, Tom Kunzman and Ray Getting.
Baumgarten Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
