The community was shocked when they heard the sad news that C.G. Anderson passed away Friday evening at 11:30 at the age of 58 years, eleven months and five days, after few days illness of spinal
meningitis.
He was born in Linkoping Sweden an when about 30 years of age he came to Clay county, Iowa, and soon after was married to Miss Anna Matilda Gustafson. This union was blessed with five children, two sons and three daughter.
After moving here he began farming on the farm where he made his home until his death.
He was a true and faithful husband, kind and loving to his children and a good honest upright man, highly respected by his neighbors and his cheerful face will be sadly missed by his man friends here.
When about 15 years of, age he united with the church, in Sweden and when 31 years of age he united with the Harmony Congregational church of which he was a faithful member until his death.
He leaves to mourn his departure a loving wife, and five children, Walter W., Mrs. Henry Brigham of Langdon, Emma C., Nellie M., Elmer H., and one brother, N. M. Anderson of Spencer.
Funeral services were held from the house Monday at 2 o'clock and were conducted by Rev. C. E. Waudby of Dickens and the body was laid to rest in Rose Hill cemetery.
