Eli Franker of Royal passed away, Friday, October 14 at his home on a farm a few miles west of Royal at the time of his death.
Mr. Franker was seventy nine years, four months and four days
Mr. Franker had been in failing health for some time and his death resulted in a complication of diseases
Eli Franker was born in Canada, June 10, 1848
In early manhood he moved to St. Anne, Illinois
In 1869, Eli Franker was united in marriage to Miss Mary Dellboc and they made their home there for fifteen years when they moved to Clay County, Iowa
Mr. and Mrs. Franker and children lived on the Frank Felt farm west of Royal for thirty one years
Mrs. Franker passed away in 1920 and Mr. Franker then made his home with his son Jule to the time of his death.
Mr. Franker was a man of high quality, honest and upright in his dealing and those who knew him longest loved him most
To this union twelve children were born, seven of whom survive his death
Mr. Franker leaves to mourn his departure six sons, Will, Jule, Med, Frank and Delor living near Royal and Felix of Wheaton, Minnesota and one daughter, Mrs. John Burns of Wheaton, also twenty four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren
Funeral services were held in the Catholic Church of Royal, Monday, October 17, Rev. Father Barry officiating
Interment was made at the Clay Center Cemetery
