[Ralph was the son of Carl Byron Tillinghast and Vernon (aka Verna) Nicholson. Following his father's death, his mother remarried to Elmer Blake, and died in the state of Washington in 1969.]

Ralph Tillinghast, 22-year-old Yakima truckdriver, was in critical condition in Providence Hospital today from injuries suffered in a truck collision near North Bend [WA] Tuesday.
Tillinghast suffered a fractured left leg, several fractured ribs and possible internal injuries, his physician said. State Patrolman Fred Grant of North Bend said Tillinghast's truck crashed into the rear of a moving hay truck.

Ralph Tillinghast, twenty-two, Seattle truck driver, was in a critical condition in Providence Hospital yesterday with injuries received in a traffic accident near North Bend.
Tillinghast's truck crashed into the rear of a hay truck Tuesday, and it was necessary to pull the truck apart to get him out, according to State Patrolman Fred Grant. Tillinghast lives at the Mansfield Hotel.

Ralph Tillinghast, 26 years old, of Kent, died at Providence Hospital last night of injuries received in a crash near North Bend. It was King County's 124th traffic fatality. Tillinghast's automobile struck the rear of a truck loaded with hay last Tuesday and he was pinned in the wreckage.

The body is being brought to Peterson for interment in the cemetery here beside the body of his father.
