Final Rites for Mrs. Tillinghast

Carrie Madsen Tillinghast, daughter of Mary and Hans Madsen, was born in Cedar Falls, November 27, 1884. She with her parents moved to Peterson, where she grew to womanhood and received her education. She was married to Victor Tillinghast on June 7, 1905 and they resided on a farm near Peterson for three and one-half years before moving to South Dakota. They lived in Windsor township, Brookings county until 1947 when Mr. Tillinghast passed away. The following year Carrie moved to Arlington where she resided until her death. She passed away at the Brooking Memorial Hospital Saturday morning, May 23. She leaves to mourn her passing, two brothers, Louis of St. Paul, Minn. and Hjalmar Madsen of Granite Falls, Minn., one sister, Mrs. Swan Christopherson of Russell, Minn., eight nephews, seven nieces and a host of friends. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery on May 25 at 5 p.m.
