Mrs. Paul Christensen, 55, passed away last Friday, November 9, 1934, at her home on East Sixth Street, from heart disease. Her death, which occurred at nine o'clock in the morning, followed an illness of about 17 years. Mrs. Christensen was taken violently ill the previous Monday while passing through Jamestown N.D., en route home. The family called a physician, and two days later they returned to Spencer.
Mrs. Christensen improved some, and was able to sit up. She suffered a relapse two days prior to her death.

Funeral Monday

Funeral service were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Bethany Lutheran church, Rev. K. Nyegaard, pastor, conducting the rites. A quartet composed of Miss Lenore Nicolsisen, Mrs. D.A. Thomsen, sang "Abide With Me" and "Some Sweet Day". Accompaniment at the piano was by Mrs. Adolph Erickson.

Internment was in Riverside cemetery.

From Denmark in 1907

Anna Nielsen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jens Peter Nielsen, was born in Denmark September 2, 1879, being 55 years, two months and seven days of age at the time of death. She spent her childhood and early youth in the old country, being married October 11, 1898 to Mr. Christensen. In May of 1907 the family immigrated to the United States, settling in Clinton, IA. They lived at different places, coming to Spencer 18 years ago.

Many Survive

Twelve children were born to them, three dying in infancy. Surviving are: Mrs. Jens Henson of Spencer, Mrs. Marie Mikkelson of Sanish, N.D., Mrs. Vera Adams of Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. John Holmes of Spencer, Jim Christensen of Arnolds Park, Miller and Earl Christensen of Spencer, Mrs. Perry Myridirick of Sanish, N.D., and Bert Christensen at home. All were present for the services.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, a brother Niels Nielson of Lake Park; and her stepmother, Mrs. Marie Nielsen, and several brothers and sisters in Denmark.
