February 6, 1957Samuel Fisk, the son of John and Mary E. Abel Fisk, was born October 24, 1869 at Compton, Illinois. He died February 6 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Theodore Tigges. He was 87 years of age
Mr. Fisk came to Spencer at the age of eighteen.
On December 16, 1891, he was united in marriage to Augusta Muetzel. To this union five children were born, all of whom survive; Merrill of San Bernadino, California; Esther, Mrs Wester Gruchow of Spencer; Floyd of Spencer; Helen, Mrs. Theodore Tigges of Spencer; and Mabel, Mrs. Carl Zishka of Alameda, California. Also surviving are 20 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; one brother, Earl of Kellerton, one sister, Edna Lake of Story City and many nieces, nephews and friends
Mr. Fisk became a member of the Lutheran Church and the First English Congregation at and early age and remained a faithful member throughout his lifetime
Funeral services for Mr. Fisk were held Saturday, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. in the English Lutheran Church with Rev. L.W. Steffen officiating
Burial was in North Lawn Cemetery with Cobb Funeral Home in charge
Pallbearers; Duane Fisk, Ronnie Gruchow, Carroll Gruchow, Lyle Gruchow, Roger Fisk, Leland Carpenter
