Mrs. Alvina Erion is Taken By Death

Services Held Monday in Spencer with Burial North Lawn Cemetery

Mrs. Alvina Erion, widow of the late Tobias Erion, responded to the call of the Master of Life on Friday morning, April 15 at the Spencer Hospital. She had reached the age of 85 years abd 6 months and 2 days.

Funeral services were held Monday at 1:30 at the English Lutheran Church with Rev. L.W. Steffen officiating.

Pallbearers: Carl Abel, Fred Carlson, Oscar Schmid, Martin Freeburg, Oscar Walstrom , George Groen.

Interment in North Lawn Cemetery

Alvina, daughter of Henry and Anna Wilkens was born October 13, 1874 in Center Townshiip, O'Brien County, in a sod house built by her father. She was the fourth of twelve children. She attended public school near her home and confirmation school in the Lutheran church in Center Township, where she was confirmed.

Her marriage to Tobias Erion took place in the family home in O'Brien County on May 18, 1893. They established their married life on a farm.

To this union three daughters were born; Eva Amanda, who at the age of 1 year and 1 month, preceded her parents in death; and the two remaining daughters, Esther (Mrs. Howard Guenther) and Anita (Mrs. Louis Klatt) of Hartley. Also surviving are the two son in laws, three grandchildren and one brother, Henry of Ashton, Illinois.

Her parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters preceded her in death.

The Erion lived on the family farm until 1921 when they moved to Spencer. Mrs. Erion like her husband was a life long active member of the Lutheran church, since 1921 being a member of the First English Lutheran Church in Spencer. She was active in the Lsdies Aid holding various offices in that organization both in the Church at Hartley and in Spencer. Can't read the rest of the article.
