Urban William "Chris" Christians

October 7, 1956Funeral services for U.W. (Chris) Christians, 64 year old Spencer businessman who died here Sunday evening, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Grace United Methodist Church and Military rites will be conducted by the Glen Pedersen American Legion Post at North Lawn Cemetery
Christians, operator of Christians Sheet Metal Works here since 1926, was past commander of the Glen Pedersen Post.
He served with famed 168th Rainbow Divison throughout World War I
Born near Milwaukee, Christians moved to Iowa as a young man and worked as a machinist and with sheet metal for years before moving to Spencer and opening his own firm.
His son, Jim Christians, gave up a career as a musician to join his father in the business in 1947
The younger Christians has been managing the firm for the past year and a half
Other survivors include his widow and a daughter, Mrs. Walter Geeting of Spencer
