Memorial Obituary
Entered Into Eternal Rest Tuesday, August 9, 1977
Dickens - Services for Mrs. Robert Mingus, 53, of Dickens (Gillett Grove) will be Thursday at 2 pm at the Grace United Methodist Church in Spencer. The Rev. Lawrence Hartley will officiate. Mrs. Mingus died Tuesday at the Spencer Municipal Hospital.

Bearers will be Jake Hoekstra, Don Caquelin, Howard Stoermer, Francis McQuaid, Gale Alger and Larry Stegge. Honorary bearer will be George Dischler. Mrs. Martha Lane will sing "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" and "My Faith Looks Up to Thee." Mrs. Floyd King will be the organist.

Mrs. Mingus was born March 18, 1924 at Kansas City, MO, the daughter of George and Minnie Harrings Jimison. She moved to Council Bluffs when young and received her education there. She married Robert Mingus on November 4, 1944 at Denver, CO. They lived near Bagley for four years before moving to Council Bluffs where they lived for 17 years. They moved to Spencer in 1967 and then to Gillett Grove in 1973.

Survivors include her widower, Robert of Gillett Grove; one son, Jim Mingus of Spencer; three daughters, Mrs. Gayla Johnson of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Laura Huffman of Council Bluffs and Joanne Mingus of Gillett Grove; six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.

The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
