June 9, 2001A funeral service for Lucille Eachen, 81, of Spencer will be held today, June 12, 2001 at First Christian Church in Spencer. The Rev. Charles Schoeninger will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service.
Mrs. Eachen died at the Spencer Municipal Hospital on June 9, 2001
Casket Bearers; Dennis Slaymaker, Larry Mumm, Larry Lee, Ken Hicks, Dwain Oviatt, Greg Hoffman
Honorary Casket Bearers will be the Spencer Hospital respiratory Rehabilitation Department
Interment will be at North Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Spencer
Lucille Esther Eachen, the daughter of Charlie and Lucy Townsend Johnson was born May 27, 1920 in Spencer, South Dakota. She received her early education in Spencer, South Dakota and it was there she graduated from high school
She moved to Spencer in 1938 and for 35 years she worked as a cashier at Spencer Super Valu. She retired in 1982
On June 26, 1961, she married Clyde Eachen in Colorado Springs, Colorado. They made their home in Fostoria.
She was a member of the First Christian Church, Charter Member of the Eagles Auxiliary, the Fostoria Birthday Club and the VFW
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one brother
Mrs. Eachen is survived by one daughter and her husband, Jackie and Roger Mann of Spencer; one son, James Newcomb of Belton, Missouri; one step daughter and her husband, Sharon and Dennis Slaymaker of Spencer; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends
Warner Funeral Home of Spencer is in charge of arrangements
