Thelma Dotson, 90, Terril, died Saturday, September 5, 1998 at Milford Care Center, Milford

Funeral services will be today at 1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, Terril, with the Rev. Kim Eanes officiating

Casket Bearers; Larry Dotson, Mark Dotson, Adam Dotson, Mitch Dotson, Rodney Dotson, Brian Dotson, Lee Dotson, Brad Dotson,, Greg Dotson, Keith Dotson

Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park, Spencer

Thelma Florence Dotson, the daughter of Frank and Bessie Newby Whaley, was born August 20, 1908 in Marshalltown. She graduated from Terril High School in 1927. She drove a horse and buggy school bus and played basketball while in school

On September 12, 1928, Thelma was married to Everett Dotson. They farmed in the Terril and Dickens area their entire lives

Thelma enjoyed keeping a diary she had started as a young girl up until a year ago. She never missed a sporting event that her sons were in which gave her many hours of enjoyment.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son Erv; two grandchildren; Sharon Dotson Voss and Steven Dotson; and one sister, Irene

Mrs. Dotson is survived by her husband; five sons; Duane Dotson and his wife Norma of Spencer; Dwight Dotson of Bloomington, Minnesota; Tom Dotson and his wife, Carolyn of Spencer; Mel Dotson and his wife, Joan of Tuscon, Arizona; and Denny Dotson and his wife, Lois of Milford; 20 grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren
