Funeral services for Roy Sylvester Dorman, 85, of Spencer will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, April 17, at First English Church in Spencer. the Rev. Chris Gugel will officiate

Interment will be in North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer

Casket Bearers; Les Moding, Bob Gould, Art Bates, Duane Willrett, Alvin Meyer and Donald Dobbins

Mr. Dorman died Sunday at his home in Spencer

He was born July 6, 1905 in Meadow Township. His childhood years were spent in Meadow Township, where he received his early education in country schools. He later graduated from Spencer High School

Following high school, he farmed with his parents for 40 years. He moved to Spencer in 1964, where he was self-employed as a custodian at several places in Spencer and most recently at the Iowa Highway Patrol, retiring in 1988.

He was a member of First English Lutheran Church, where he was baptized on December 9, 1959

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister

He survived by one sister in law, Corrine Dorman of Spencer

The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
