Violet Vi Opal Anderson, the daughter of William and Maudie (Passieux) Waechter, was born March 22, 1921 in Monowi, NE. Her childhood years were spent in Lynch, NE, where she attended country school and later graduated from Lynch High School in 1939.

Vi married Fred Anderson on December 24, 1940 in Creighton, NE. Following her marriage, they moved to northwest Iowa, where they raised their family in the Everly, Royal and Terril areas for 13 years and then moved to the Spencer area, where they made their home for 31 years.

Vi has lived in assisted living at the Ruthven Community Care Center for the last seven years to the present time. In addition to raising her family, she worked outside the home as a Nurses' Aide for Spencer Hospital for 22 years.

She was associated with the Methodist Church. Vi accepted Christ as her Savior eight years ago. In her spare time, Vi enjoyed reading, gardening and raising flowers and bird watching.

She passed away at the Spencer Hospital on Friday, June 29, 2012 at the age of 91.

Vi was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fred on January 16, 1984 and six infant siblings.

Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses: Fred Lee and Chris Anderson of Springtown, TX, Sharon and Ron Berkenpas of Spencer, Gary and Dianne Anderson of Ventura, IA, Darlis and Jeanette Anderson of Dublin, TX, The Triplets, Judy and Clayton Henrichsen of Spencer, James Anderson of Houston, TX and Janet and Oscar Morales of Fort Worth, TX; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; a great-great grandson, Ayen Gathman; other relatives and many friends.
