Lorraine Margaret Anderson, the daughter of William and Catherine (Loftus) Supple, was born January 12, 1920 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cedar Rapids, where she received her education at Immaculate Conception Grade School and High school, graduating in 1938. She later attended Mt. Mercy College.

Lorraine married Donald Anderson on February 8, 1941 in Cedar Rapids. Following their marriage, they lived at Ft. Benning, GA for a short time before moving back to Cedar Rapids in 1943 when her husband was deployed overseas during WWII. Upon her husband's discharge in 1946, they reunited in Evansville, IN and later moved to Milwaukee, WI, where she kept busy as a mother and housewife. They moved their family to Spencer, Iowa in 1951, where she worked at City Hall, Spencer National Bank and the Clay County Farm Bureau for many years.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was active with Catholic Daughters in Spencer. Lorraine also enjoyed playing bridge, reading, and in her earlier years, dancing, where she met her husband, Don, spending time with her grandchildren and family, especially her 12 great grandchildren.

Lorraine passed away at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer, Iowa on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by a son, Stanley in 1965; her husband, Donald in 1984 ; a sister, Katie and her husband, Donald Boyle and a son-in-law, Bryan Fisher.

Left to cherish her memory are a son, Stephen Anderson and his wife, Barbara of Wilmington, NC and their children: Lisa (Patrick), Will (Heidi) and Danny (Yael), a daughter, Julie Fisher of Long Prairie, MN and her children: Jason (Trisha) and Matthew (Carolyn), a son, Timothy Anderson and his wife, Dawn of Olathe, KS and their children: Sarah and Emily, and a daughter, Kathy Brees and her husband, Gary of Peterson, IA and their children: Jill (Mike), Jennifer (Nathan) and Jeff; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Joan Vermeersch and her husband, Chuck of Cedar Rapids, IA; other relatives and many friends.
