Orvan (Bud) Owen O'Hara of Spencer, who worked at Spencer Foods for 27 years, died Monday at the Veteran's Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was 63

The son of Maynard and Elizabeth Hamilton O'Hara. Mr. O'Hara was born September 12, 1921 in Elmore, Minnesota. His family moved to Spencer when he was young and he received his education here

Mr. O'Hara married Doris Fear on September 30, 1942 in Marshall, Minnesota

He entered the military shortly after their marriage and seved with the US Army during World War II. Following his discharge in 1945. Mr. O'Hara returned to Spencer

The O'Haras live in Spencer throughout their marriage, where he worked for Spencer Foods. Mr. O'Hara was employed as a butcher during much of his 27 years with that firm. He retired in 1977

Mr. O'Hara was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, Amalgamated Meat Cutters Assciation, Local 152 and the American Legion, Glen Pedersen Post No. 1

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Ronald of Granada Hills, California; Owen of Spencer and Larry of Schuyler, Nebraska; five granddaughters; one grandson; four brothers, Donald and Bob both of Spencer, Harold of Renton, Washington and Maynard of Marietta, Georgia; one sister, Delores Marks of Kelseyville, California; one half brother, Danny DeWitt of Sioux City and one half sister, Jackie Miller of Wichita, Kansas

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Warner Chapel. The Rev. Jerry Brown will officiate

Burial will be in the Norht Lawn Cemetery

Casket Bearers; Walt Schroeder, Leo Wigen, Ed Morisch, Norbert Wimmer, Evert Roskens, Bob Johnson

Military services will be conducted by the American Legion Post No. 1

The Warner Funeral Home is in charge of the service arrangements
