Lorette Graves was born at Lisbon, St. Lawrence county, New York, on May 21st, 1844.

At the age of only 11 years her mother died, and this so young girl resumed charge of the family of four children.

On February 7th, 1866 she was married to a young soldier by the name of Adonijah Fulton. This happy union continued for nearly fifty-two years, broken only by Mrs. Fulton's death on Monday morning Dec. 31st, at 6:30 o'clock.

The first two years after this marriage were spent on a farm near Lisbon, N.Y. and in 1868 they came to Boone and in 1869 settled on a homestead 9 miles south of Peterson and lived there for five years. They came to Brooke twp., in the spring of 1881 and have been in this community for 36 years.

Eight children were born into this home, three of these preceeded their mother in death: Ida Irene in 1881, Oscar Burr in 1883, and more recently, Wallace who died in 1910.

The children still living are, Helen L. Williams, Peterson; Warren U. Fulton, Glenburn, N.D.; Clarence A. Fulton, Linn Grove; Mable Ione Johnson, Minneapolis; Otto Lee Fulton, Peterson.

All of these except Warren have been at her bedside of their mother during her late illness.

There are living 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fulton living in Lisbon, N.Y.

It is not for us to endeavor to convey the feelings of loss and mourning of this community. Friends and neighbors from near and far were here to show that one of the choicest and purest spirits has passed from among you.

Funeral services, conducted by Rev. O.P. Mueleir of Harris, Iowa, were held at the M.E. church yesterday and interment was made in Oakland Cemetery.
