April 16, 1997Wendell Christianson, 89, Spencer, died Wednesday, April 16, 1997, at Northshire Residence in Spencer
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 19, at 1:30 p.m. at Warner Chapel in Spencer, with Dr. Wesley S.K. Daniel officiating
Casket Bearers; Jeff Hamill, Gary House, Judge Maurice Redmond, Andrew Flasky, Peter Hamill, Carl Larson.
Burial will be at North Lawn Memorial Park in Spencer.
Wendell Christianson, the son of Ole Peter and Mary Olson Christianson, was born March 15, 1908 in Nekoma, North Dakota, where he spent his childhood and graduated from high school.
He married Genevieve Mammen on September 17, 1938 in Estherville. Following their marriage, they lived in Graettinger until 1944, when they moved to Spencer. They later moved to Fostoria in 1946, where he owned and operated C&M Oil Company for 33 years until his retirement in 1979.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; seven brothers and six sisters.
He is survived by one son, Eldon Christianson and his wife, Pat, of Kirkland, Washington; one brother, Norma Jean Hamill and her husband, Robert of Apple Valley, Minnesota; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Throndseth and her husband, Thelmer of Florida; and one sister in law, Rose Plantz at Longhouse Residence in Spencer.
