Mr. Date Hall Dies at His Home Saturday, April 22
Mr. Date Nelson Hall was born at Parkersburg, Iowa, on April 21, 1860, one of the eight children of Nathan and Mary Jane Hall, and he passed away at his home in Peterson, Iowa, on April 22, 1944, at the mature age of 84 years and 1 day.
Mr. Hall was united in marriage to Rose Brown of Peterson on June 23, 1884. Three children, two sons and one daughter, were born to this union. One son, Guy, preceded his father in death at the age of 3. His wife and companion of more than 58 years, passed away on October 24, 1942.
Mr. Hall was a painter and gardener by trade, and he had lived in Peterson about 58 years. He has been a member of the Methodist Church for many years.
Surviving to mourn his passing are one son, Ray Hall, of Peterson, and one daughter, Mrs. Charles Lee, of Pisgah, Iowa, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Earl Hall of Mason City and Fred Hall of Des Moines, and other relatives too numerous to mention.
Funeral services were conducted in the Methodist Church in Peterson at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 1944 by the Reverend Forrest E. Flowers. Music was rendered by Miss Lois Matson and Mr. Ivan Reed, accompanied by Dr. H.H. Scott. Interment was in Oakland cemetery in Peterson.
