Funeral services were held November 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Maple Grove Church, near Peterson, for Cora Adell Allbee. Rev. Leo Ruley officiated.
Pallbearers were Raymond Farquhar, Clair Woolston, Ronald Woolston, C.H. Burgeson, Remington Hyde and Richard Burgeson. Hymns "In the Garden" and "No Light There" were sung by Mrs. Ted Kosta, accompanied by Mrs. Richard Burgeson. In charge of flowers were Mrs. C.H. Burgeson and Mrs. Robert McDanile.
Interment was at the Oakland Cemetery in Peterson, with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Cora Adell Allbee, the daughter of Anson and Helen Barry Allbee was born in Clay Twp., Clay County on August 24, 1881. She died Nov. 6 at Spencer at the age of 87 years, 2 months and 12 days.
She attended rural schools near her childhood home and high school in Sutherland; for a short period she was at Cedar Falls. For over a period of nearly 50 years she taught in the Peterson schools. While in Montana she, with her sister, Mattie and cousin Genevieve Barry homesteaded land and held it until their claims were proved. After the death of her parents she lived on a farm near Peterson with her sister, Cora from 1930 until 1959 when they moved into Peterson. Since June 1966 she had been a patient at the Spencer hospital. She was a member of the Maple Grove Church of God.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Ina, Mattie, and Edith.
Survivors include and adopted daughter, Mary (Mrs. Thomas McClintock) and her son Brian of Arlington, Va.; cousins and other relatives.
