Lucille Chapman, 95, Estherville, died Wednesday, December 18, 2002, at the Good Samaritan Center, Estherville.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, December 23 at Calvary United Methodist Church, Arnolds Park with Rev. R.D. Streeter officiating.

Pallbearers: Steven Erickson, David Erickson, Jon Erickson, Don Erickson, Steve Olson, Neil Pespisil, B.J. Ferguson, Bill Olson, Jason Ferguson, George Clarke

Interment was held at the North Lawn Cemetery, Spencer.

Lucille Chapman, the daughter of John and Gena Halverson Olson, was born in Parnell, on October 18, 1907. At an early age she moved to Spencer. Lucille attended Spencer School graduating from Spencer High School in 1926. Later, she was employed in the of the W.H. Thomas Mfg. Co., in Spencer.

Lucille married Robert H. Morris at the Little Brown Church in Nashua on September 25, 1927. The couple made their home in Des Moines, where they raised their two children, Rita and Robert

In 1967, the family moved to Arnolds Park from St. Paul, Minnesota, where she had been employed as a secretary for 15 years with the firm, Brown & Bigelow. Two years later, her husband died.

Lucille was employed as a legal secrertary with Welty, Wicke & Maahs in Spirit Lake until her retirement.

She remarried in 1977 to Lyle J. Chapman of Terril. He died in 1991.

Mrs. Chapman was peceded in death by her husbands, daughter, son, grandson, brother and two sisters.

She is survived by two step daughters, Patricia Erickson and her husband, Donald, of Estherville; Virginia Thiesen and her husband, Bill of Spirit Lake; daughter in lay, Kathryn Morris of Kansas City, Missouri; sister in law, Elizabeth Matuska; 9 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and relatives and friends.

Turner Funeral Home of Milford in charge of arrangements.
