John V. Cullen

Funeral services for John V. Cullen, 89, of Spencer, will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Spencer. Father Gerald F. Lyon will officiate and burial will be the Mount Calvary Section of North Lawn Cemetery

Mr. Cullen died March 19 at the Spencer Municipal Hospital

Bearers; Bert Higgins, George Brownell, Robert Ginger, Leo Ruthledge, Del Nelson and Matt Wittrock

Mr. Cullen was born January 22, 1886, in Illinois, the son of John and Mary Jane Cullen.

He married Sarah Gavin on February 25, 1916 at Sioux Rapids. She preceded him in death

He farmed during the early part of his life and in 1942 he worked for the Farmers Cooperative Elevator of Spencer, retiring in 1956

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Spencer

Survivors include one son, Joseph Cullen of Utica, Minnesota; one daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Roseberry of Marion, Ohio; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Olive Heschke of Hastings, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and four sisters

The Lightle Hayes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements
