Funeral for Mrs. Clarence E. Chalfant, 85, of Spencer was held Tuesday afternoon from the Warner Chapel in Spencer. Pastor Harold Lovestrand officiated.

Burial was at North Lawn Cemetery in Spencer

Bearers; George Koenig, William Koenig, Dick Barnard, Charles Nelson, Ervin Grover and Jack Holiday.

Mrs. Chalfant died Saturday, August 27 at St. Luke Lutheran Home in Spencer.

She was born June 13, 1892, to Borgard and Amanda Dehart Caskey at West Liberty, Kentucky.

On January 19, 1939, she was married to Clarence E. Chalfant at Mount Sterling, Kentucky

Mrs. Chalfant received her education in West Librery, Kentucky. After her marriage, the couple moved to Gillett Grove then to Webb for eight years. She moved to Spencer four years ago.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Spencer, a Gold Star Mother a homemaker by occupation.

Surviving are her widower, Clarence E. Chalfant; a son, the Rev. Donald H. Chalfant of Battle Creek, Michigan; a daughter, Mrs. Troy (Darlene) Porter of Spencer; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers, Oval Caskey of McKay, Idaho; Omar Caskey of Dayton, Ohio; Earl Caskey and Lee Caskey both of West Liberty, Kentucky and Elmer Caskey of Ashland, Kentucky and a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Litteral of Fairborn, Ohio.

Warner Funeral Home of Spencer was in charge of arrangements.
